Iqalu - The Queen’s Bowl
Iqalu - The Queen’s Bowl
The office of the Right Honourable Adrienne Clarkson, then Governor General of Canada, commissioned a gift that would be given to Her Majesty the Queen of England. I constructed the bowl out of 16g sterling silver. It is a shallow bowl with 2 fish handles and a raised foot. Pierre Koomuk from Arviat, NU, did the chased design of Arctic Char swimming in a pool of icy water. The piece was presented in a private ceremony at Rideau Hall in Ottawa in 2002 during her Golden Jubilee Tour of Canada.
